Munich (dpa / lby) – The regional court of Munich I has prohibited advertising by the baby food manufacturer Hipp for children’s milk.
This was confirmed by a court spokeswoman on Thursday. Specifically, it is about sentences such as “You need 7 times more than I do, get big, healthy – for sure” and “Small children need up to 3 times more calcium and even 7 times more vitamin D than adults per kg of body weight”. These slogans are misleading, the court ruled. The general statement that a child needs seven times more vitamin D than an adult needs to be explained.
“Parents should not get the impression that certain products are necessary so that their child is adequately cared for,” said the consumer advice center, which had sued against the Hipp advertisement and was right. “Children over the age of one do not usually need special foods.”
