OpenAI DevDay 2025: New AMD Deal, developer Updates, and Altman-Ive Conversation
OpenAI announced a major infrastructure partnership with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Monday, sending AMD’s stock up over 30%. OpenAI will deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD’s Instinct graphics processing units over several years, and AMD has issued OpenAI a warrant for up to 160 million shares tied to deployment and AMD’s share price. “We need as much computing power as we can possibly get,” OpenAI President Greg Brockman told CNBC.
The news comes as OpenAI hosts its first annual devday, a developer-focused event featuring a series of talks and demonstrations.
