Counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – what kind of weapon is needed for a powerful attack

Earlier it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to launch a counteroffensive in the south.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov told what the Armed Forces of Ukraine need for a large-scale counteroffensive, except for howitzers and rocket systems HIMARS.

He expressed his opinion on the matter in YouTube.

“You still need armor to attack. These are tanks, armored vehicles, and of various types – both for moving individual groups, and armored personnel carriers, and infantry fighting vehicles. That’s what you need. Plus, you need aviation and electronic warfare to crush air defense and electronic warfare enemy. We need anti-radar missiles – what we have begun to receive. And we need weapons with a longer firing range or with a greater launch range, because 70-80 kilometers is the minimum that can provide us with tactical superiority,” he said.

According to Zhdanov, for superiority in the operational space of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ATACMS-type missiles are needed, and not 5-10 pieces, but at least 50-100 in order to deliver massive missile strikes.

In addition, the expert added that Ukraine needs missile defense systems (ABM), which will secure the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and ensure the uninterrupted operation of the front line.

“We need to have several deliveries of very large batches in order to form brigade sets as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And then the batches of weapons can be slightly reduced in order to make up for the losses of these weapons during the hostilities,” Zhdanov summed up.

Recall Armed forces of Ukraine are preparing to launch a counteroffensive in the southin connection with which residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions are called upon to immediately evacuate, said the Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk.
