Coronavirus. Vaccination against COVID-19 – scammers offer PLN 300 for vaccination

The cybersecurity team at the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (CSIRT PFSA) warns against a fake website where you can get PLN 300 for vaccination. “If you enter your bank password there, it will go directly to the fraudsters who will use it to steal funds” – we read.

Fraudsters continue their efforts and try to take advantage of the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic. CSIRT KNF warns of a new campaign in which cybercriminals offer money for vaccination.

“We warn you against a fake website where fraudsters offer a refund of PLN 300 for vaccination. If you enter your bank password there, it will go directly to the fraudsters who will use it to steal funds. Don’t be fooled!” – we read in the Twitter post. As added, the address of the dangerous website is gov.pl-covid[.]pl.

Paweł Piekutowski from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (CSIRT) added that “the fraudsters described the entire process of receiving PLN 300 for the vaccination carried out, which leads to the bank’s fake website”. “Entering passwords on such a website may result in the account being cleared,” warns Piekutowski.

Attached to the alert are screenshots showing content from the scam website. “Receive PLN 300 for vaccination from President Andrzej Duda. He pays PLN 300 for vaccination under the ‘Support’ program. The money will be given to all Poles who have undergone the full vaccination course” – we read on the website.

This is not the first time cybercriminals are trying to take advantage of the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic. Earlier, incl. they offered PLN 500 for completing the vaccination questionnaire.
