“Feeding my children is not selfish”
At the court hearing on Tuesday, Luther had been offered a deal, according to US media reports: that despite opening her hair salon, she would not have to go to jail if she apologized and admitted that her actions were selfish. Luther replied to the judge after recording the trial: “I have to disagree, sir, if you say that I am selfish because feeding my children is not selfish.” She added: “I will not close the salon.”
