Coronavirus: there are 5,527 deceased and 282,437 infected in the country – Télam

Another 165 people died and 6,365 were diagnosed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Argentina, bringing the number of deaths to 5,527 and 282,437 infected since the start of the pandemic, the Ministry of Health reported today.

The health portfolio indicated that 1,718 are interned in intensive care units, with a percentage of occupancy of adult beds of 58.9% in the country and 68.6% in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA).

81.20% (5,169 people) of those infected today (6,365) correspond to the City and the province of Buenos Aires.

The evening report stated that 58 men died, 31 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; 17 in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); 2 in Entre Ríos; 2 in Mendoza; 3 in Río Negro; 1 in Salta and 2 in Tierra del Fuego; and 41 women; 25 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; 11 in the City of Buenos Aires; 3 in Río Negro; 1 in Santa Fe and 1 in Tierra del Fuego.

The morning report reported that 38 men died, 19 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; 3 in the City of Buenos Aires; 14 in Jujuy; 1 in Salta and 1 in Córdoba; and 28 women; 13 residents in the province of Buenos Aires; 7 in the City of Buenos Aires; 7 in Jujuy and 1 in Neuquén.

Of the total of these cases, 1,148 (0.4%) are imported, 72,902 (25.8%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 168,252 (59.6%) are cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation .

Today 4,157 cases were registered in the province of Buenos Aires; in the City of Buenos Aires, 1,012; Chaco, 49; Chubut, 6; in Córdoba, 144; in Corrientes, 1; Entre Ríos, 100; in Jujuy, 133; in La Pampa, 1; La Rioja, 22; in Mendoza, 165; in Misiones, 1; Neuquén, 16; in Río Negro, 118; in Salta, 106; in San Luis, 1; in Santa Cruz, 40; in Santa Fe, 190; in Santiago del Estero, 24; Tierra del Fuego, 48; and in Tucumán 32.

Meanwhile, Catamarca and Formosa did not report positive cases, while San Juan (-1) showed negative numbers because it reclassified a contagion to another jurisdiction.

The total accumulated by jurisdiction indicates that the province of Buenos Aires totals 175,538 cases; the City of Buenos Aires, 75,604; Catamarca, 63; Chaco, 4,328; Chubut, 390; Cordoba, 4,290; Corrientes, 223; Entre Ríos, 1,465; Formosa, 78; Jujuy, 4,336; La Pampa, 182; La Rioja, 661; Mendoza, 2,910; Missions, 56; Neuquén, 1,735; Río Negro, 3,653; Jump, 930; San Juan, 22; San Luis, 34; Santa Cruz, 954; Santa Fe, 2,954; Santiago del Estero, 223; Tierra del Fuego, 1,274; and Tucumán, 534.

In addition, 13 cases are included in Tierra del Fuego in the Falkland Islands, according to press information because, due to the illegal occupation of the United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, it is not possible to have their own information on the impact of the Covid-19 in that part of the Argentine territory.
