The regulation will enter into force on Saturday. From September 1, it will also be required to have a doctor’s certificate about the factors that prevent the wearing of masks.

The restrictions apply to fairs and congresses, sports and cultural events, gastronomy, sanatoriums, weddings, transport and the obligation to wear masks. – Among them will be, among others funfairs and family celebrations – Łukasz Szumowski said.

– It turns out that the largest increases are recorded in very specifically located areas, including 19 poviats in Poland, out of almost 400 – Szumowski said at the conference.

– We want to introduce certain restrictions and rigors there, and in poviats with slightly less infections, these restrictions will be to a lesser extent – he emphasized and said that the red areas with the most infections are the province. Wielkopolskie, Małopolskie, Łódzkie, Śląskie, Podkarpackie. The division in terms of the number of infections will be into the yellow and red zones.

In the so-called In the red zone, wearing masks will be compulsory everywhere, this order will cover nine counties. In the remaining 10, the restrictions will be milder.

– There are poviats where no increase in infections has been seen in the last three days, the restrictions will be milder – said Deputy Health Minister Cieszyński. – He added that these are poviats where the numbers are large anyway, but remain at the same level.

– Limiting the number of people who will be able to use public transport to 50% seats, the number of people who will be able to take part in weddings and family celebrations will also be limited, including weddings. In the red zone up to 50, and in the yellow zone – up to 100. There will also be an obligation to register weddings – said Cieszyński.

It will be possible to use the swimming pools where the water is chlorinated and it will be easier to maintain hygiene, while going to the gyms will be prohibited.

Data on infections in the red zones are to be updated on an ongoing basis.

Janusz Cieszyński posted a map on Twitter, which shows in which poviats the restrictions announced at the conference will return.

Coronavirus. What about people returning from abroad?

Szumowski expressed hope that after “closing” the bonfires, the situation would be better. He stated that there are currently no plans to close borders in Poland or to introduce quarantine for people returning from abroad.

– On the other hand, the number of patients abroad is increasing, so we will analyze the situation on an ongoing basis. We are considering introducing testing for those who return from abroad, said the Minister of Health.

– We erase and examine people from outbreaks to the maximum, incl. from mines and workplaces – said Szumowski.

– Due to the fact that we plan to test 1-2 thousand daily employees of large plants in the coming days, over the weekend and after the weekend, the number of detected coronavirus infections in the range of 500-700 should still be expected – he emphasized.

The health minister called for masks to be worn in the “red” counties everywhere and to respect the restrictions. – Let’s shake off the carefree and try to maintain the sanitary regime – said Szumowski.

The exact restrictions in force in the yellow and red zones are to be published today on the website of the Ministry of Health.

Larger restrictions in poviats with a large number of infections were announced earlier

Before Health Minister Łukasz Szumowski has already announced the introduction of restrictions in poviatswhere there have been many cases of coronavirus infections in the last two weeks. He noted that these are temporary restrictions. About 20 poviats were selected then.

Poviats were selected on the basis of an analysis of the incidence increase and their dynamics.

– We analyzed the dynamics of the increase in infections in all poviats over the last 14 days. We verified how many new cases appeared per 10 thousand. inhabitants and what is the dynamics of change. As we noticed, we have a problem in about 20 poviats – Minister Szumowski pointed out in an interview with PAP.

He noted that in many places, e.g. in Pomerania or Warmia and Mazury, where, despite the fact that many tourists are staying, there is no significant increase in the number of cases. Unfortunately – as he pointed out – in the south of Poland: in Silesia, Małopolska, or recently in Wielkopolska and Podkarpacie, there are poviats where these increases are very large.

– Therefore, we will want to introduce restrictions in these poviats in practically all areas, i.e. concerning fairs and congresses, sports and cultural events, gastronomy, sanatoriums, weddings, transport and the obligation to wear masks – he announced.

The minister emphasized that the epidemic must be taken seriously. – I hope that these temporary restrictions will limit the spread of the epidemic and will give the poviats a chance to return to the national average of incidence – he indicated.

The situation in poviats – as emphasized by the head of the Ministry of Health – will be subject to ongoing analysis, and the visible trends are to be the basis for decisions made. Actions are necessary for the epidemic situation in the country to return to a stable state – added Szumowski.
