Two sanitary trains are due to arrive in Brittany this Sunday, April 5. Schedules are not known at this time. They will transport several Covid-19 patients from Ile-de-France, where the hospitals are overcrowded.
A first train will stop at Rennes, Morlaix or Saint-Brieuc and Brest. The other should stop at Vannes, Lorient and Quimper stations. This last information is being validated, visits are underway to verify the feasibility of these operations in these three stations. According to the ARS, the Regional Health Agency, these transfers regulated by the Ministry of Health are complex to organize, because they involve health personnel, the State and in particular the SNCF.
In Brittany, the occupancy rate for intensive care beds is 60%
Wednesday April 1, Brittany has already welcomed the first two medical trains with 36 patients. The patients were hospitalized in Rennes, Saint-Brieuc and Brest.
Yesterday, during an interview, Stéphane Mulliez, the director of ARS said there was no question of saturating our capabilities. “Regarding our resuscitation beds, we are at an occupancy rate of 60%, he reminded. We can therefore continue the effort while keeping reception possibilities for Breton patients.”
