Mariana Arceo is the first Mexican Olympic athlete to test positive for coronavirus. The pentathlete was in Barcelona, Spain, since March 1 as part of a camp after her participation in the World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. He arrived in Mexico on Sunday and immediately went subjected to a COVID-19 test.
Just on Friday, Arceo explained through a video that inside their camp a colleague had tested positive for the coronavirus and they were asked to vacate the sports facilities. Thus, she and her entire multidisciplinary team were isolated in a hotel in Barcelona waiting for news to be able to return to Mexico.
Since Monday, the Mexican athlete with a place to Tokyo 2020 is in complete isolation in the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases. Notably Mexico has so far 44 tickets for the next Olympic Games.
The first case in Liga MX
If this Tuesday the case of Mariana Arceo was the first Mexican Olympic athlete to test positive for COVID-19, it should be noted that Mexican soccer also had its first confirmation with Alberto Marrero, president of Atlético San Luis.
The manager of the First Division team traveled to Spain in recent days and on his return he went into isolation of his own volition, he was tested coronavirus and tested positive.
