Coronavirus Madrid Early detection and follow-up of cases should be consolidated
Lace gaps in primary care in the Community of Madrid are the main reason for the region not to pass next May 18 to the Phase 1. Instead, continue on to Phase 0 although some more activity will be allowed. This is one of the conclusions of the report regarding the Ministry of Health, as reported by La Sexta.
This report points out that although an effort has been made regarding the PCR testing for early detection, the system is near the limit of its capacity, reason why it is considered that it should be expanded, “since it could be insufficient in the event of an outbreak, especially under the exhaustive diagnosis strategy of suspected cases in Primary Care.” It should also consolidate the proportion of suspicious cases to which diagnostic tests are associated. This percentage has increased, but not too long ago.
It also points out, in the line expressed by other political and health authorities, that as the Community of Madrid is the most densely populated from Spain, “increases the risk of spreading the disease around them”.
The report is signed by MFor Pilar Aparicio Azcrraga, General Director of Public Health.
