It confirms a increase in new cases reported in Italy for the fifth consecutive week with a cumulative incidence in the last 14 days of 23.68 per 100,000 inhabitants, increasing from the period 6 / 7-19 / 7 and similar to the levels observed at the beginning of May. Most cases continue to be contracted on the national territory (result 15% of new cases imported from abroad diagnosed in the monitoring week); in particular we observe one not negligible percentage of cases imported from another region(17.6% in the current week). Indeed, Rt calculated on symptomatic cases, while remaining the most reliable indicator at the regional level and comparable over time for monitoring transmissibility, could slightly underestimate the true transmission of the virus nationwide. Thirteen regions reported an increase in the number of cases diagnosed over the previous week that cannot be attributed solely to an increase in cases imported from abroad.
