Coronavirus in Peru | Volunteers for Sinopharm vaccine trials will be able to register from August 30

Peruvians who wish to be candidates for the clinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccine from the laboratory Sinopharm they already have a date for their registration.

Those who wish to apply for a first group, which will have the Center for Clinical Studies of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), must register on the day Sunday, August 30 at 11 am in the Web page www.vacunacovid.pe.

On this page you will find a link in red with the indication “I want to participate”, which will lead to a registration form. This will automatically close after the first 3,000 volunteers have signed up.

Meanwhile, the registration of a second group of 3,000 candidates for the headquarters of the Center for Clinical Research and Immunizations of the University Clinic of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) will open in the coming days as soon as they complete the corresponding registration and approval stages.

In the following days, the study team will contact the first 3,000 volunteers by telephone, who must confirm a validation message that will be sent to their emails. After verifying their information and confirming that they are eligible to participate, the day and time they will attend the study center will be coordinated with them.

Through a joint statement, the UPCH and the UNMSM reiterated to the population and volunteers that their participation in the study does not imply that they are protected from COVID-19, and that they must continue to maintain the corresponding prevention and social distancing measures.

Last week, the National University of San Marcos and the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia announced that they will host the trials of phase 3 of the vaccine project Sinopharm in Peru.

The Chinese group Sinopharm It’s one of the five laboratories with which Peru conducts negotiations for the acquisition of vaccines against COVID-19.
