Region, in Piedmont one of the lowest infections in Italy
Piedmont, with an incidence of 468.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants registered in the week from 25 to 31 July, compared to the national value of 633.4, has a lower value, as regards Covid infections, in Italy together with Lombardy. The occupancy of ordinary beds as of 1 August stood at 8.4% (the national value is 16.4%) and that of intensive care at 1.9% (the national value is 4% ), while the positivity of the swabs is 10.9%. The data emerged in the usual weekly meeting of the Dirmei which was attended by the President of the Region, Alberto Cirio, and the councilor for Health, Luigi Icardi. In the region in the period from 25 to 31 July the average daily cases of infections were 2,860, of which Alessandria 312, Asti 167, Biella 109, Cuneo 312, Novara 237, Vercelli 117, Vco 77, Turin city 537, Turin metropolitan area 906 . In total, on a regional basis, the cases of the last 7 days were 20,023 (-8,660, or -30.2% compared to the previous week, of these Alessandria 2,183 (-650), Asti 1,166 (-173), Biella 70 (-409), Cuneo 2,183 (-829), Novara 1,657 (-731), Vercelli 817 (-285), Vco 536 (-362), Turin city 3,761 (-1,680), Turin metropolitan area 6,341 (-3,168). The decline in infections affects all age groups, from adults to school.
