The participants in Concertation Committee arrived at the Palais d’Egmont on Sunday morning. The committee will discuss the causes of the evolution of Covid-19 infections in each part of the country. As a reminder, the figures for this Sunday morning further confirm an increase in new cases over the last week by + 61%, or on average 143 new patients daily.
Despite this increase in figures, Jean-Luc Gala, head of Saint-Luc University clinics, believes that we must remain calm. “We must not see the situation with much catastrophism. We have a strategic stock of masks. Masks are starting to be produced in sufficient numbers. The number of tests available is starting to be much larger than before even if it is not yet perfect and even if we do not test enough people. (…) We also have a much wider range of tests available than at the start of the pandemic.
