The number of currently infected rose from early March to April 11, culminating in 4,736 cases. Subsequently, the number of active cases decreased and stagnated with approximately fluctuations from about mid-May. Growth began again in June, especially in its second half. Last weekend, the number of currently ill patients exceeded the current April maximum and continues to grow.

The worst situation is currently in the Moravian-Silesian Region, where hygienists extended anti-epidemic measures to the entire region on Friday. In the last seven days, the number of infected people in the Karviná region per 100,000 inhabitants has increased, which is the most of all regions in the Czech Republic. In the neighboring Frýdek-Místek region, there are approximately 38 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

In the Czech Republic, the most significant outbreak is in the Jablonec region, where over 24 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants have been recorded in the last seven days. Due to the increased number of newly proven cases, veils will be returned in the Liberec Region. From Friday, July 24, they will have to be worn by people when visiting all health care facilities, when shopping at a pharmacy, in selected social services facilities and, for example, workers in field social services.

Covid-19 is mild in most infected. However, the number of hospitalized rose by 11 to 148 on Monday, with 20 of them in a difficult state. There were 134 hospitalized on Saturday and 137 on Sunday.
