Coronavirus: decline in premature births during confinement intrigues scientists

The drastic containment measures imposed for fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus would they have made it possible to greatly limit the number of cases of premature births? Scientists, Danish and Irish in the lead, are not far from thinking so. Even if, for the moment, their work asks more questions than it answers.

And as it stands, scientists can indeed only speculate on the link between containment and premature births. But they are convinced that they have put their finger on something. Because even if they have not yet been validated by the scientific community, these studies, conducted independently in Denmark and Ireland, go in the same direction: that of a significant reduction in cases of very premature babies.
