The cruises start again after the stop for Covid: there is the go-ahead from the government. MSC Cruises, through its executive president Pierfrancesco Vago and CEO Gianni Onorato announced that the first ship to set sail will be MSC Grandiosa on August 16 from Genoa, for a 7-night voyage in the western Mediterranean with stopovers in Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo and Valletta (Malta). On 29 August MSC Magnifica will set sail from Bari as a 7-night cruiser in the eastern Mediterranean with stops in Trieste, Corfu and Katakolon and Piraeus (Greece).
Costa is also ready to leave. Group CEO Michael Thamm spoke of “responsible recovery” and said that the ship’s dates and itineraries will soon be known. Both companies have developed protocols to ensure the safety of crews and passengers
