Bern invites people to avoid handshakes, throw used tissues in a closed bin and always call before going to the doctor or the emergency room.
These new recommendations are available on the website of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). They follow the multiplication of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Switzerland.
Sunday at the end of the day, the number of confirmed cases announced by the FOPH amounted to 24 in 11 cantons (AG, BE, BL, BS, FR, GE, GR, TI, VD, VS, ZH).

Here’s how to protect ourselves: the campaign against the new coronavirus is now going from yellow to red. So: the three rules of conduct are supplemented by three additional. pic.twitter.com/MguAv9fYxS– BAG – OFSP – UFSP (@BAG_OFSP_UFSP) March 2, 2020
Sunday at the end of the day, the number of confirmed cases announced by the FOPH amounted to 24 in 11 cantons (AG, BE, BL, BS, FR, GE, GR, TI, VD, VS, ZH).
Geneva has the most, with 8 confirmed cases, followed by Graubünden (6). In French-speaking Switzerland, four out of six cantons are affected for the time being, with the exception of the Jura and Neuchâtel. In total, more than 1,300 suspected cases have been tested so far.
Quarantines have also been decided by the authorities. Forty-five students and nine teachers in a technical college in Biel are quarantined for 15 days: this is the first measure of this kind taken in a school. (Ps / nxp)
