Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the founder of Hellfest, Ben Barbaud, has decided to cancel the next edition of the festival, which was scheduled from June 19 to 20 in Clisson (Loire-Atlantique).
Questioned by CNews, he explains that pandemic insurance paid 200,000 euros last December refuses to take care of the cancellation due to the Covid-19. “She found us a paragraph telling us that the Covid-19 was the equivalent of SARS in 2003, which was excluded from the contract,” he said.
Other festivals are said to be on the verge of being canceled this year. This is particularly the case with the Vieilles Charrues. “I find it hard to imagine that a prefect will give authorization in a few weeks to organize events for 70,000 people, such as the Vieilles Charrues”, specifies its director, Jérôme Trehorel.
