Coronavirus: 92 infections on average per day in Belgium, a slightly increasing figure

With a daily average of 92 new infections last week (compared to 87 on average for the previous week), an increase of 6% is recorded.

Che Saturday (and before two days of interruption), Sciensano communicated its daily report. As stated previously, the reports are now focused on trends rather than daily figures, “in order to better objectify the evolution of the epidemic, regardless of fluctuations in daily figures”.

If the majority of the indicators remain encouraging, a slight increase in the number of contaminations can be noted in Belgium. With a daily average of 92 new infections last week (compared to 87 on average for the previous week), an increase of 6% is recorded.

All the other indicators remain green. With an average of 6 deaths per day, there is a 17% decrease in the number of victims in one week. In hospital, admissions are down 15%. On average, 15 entries per day are recorded.

Currently, 246 patients are hospitalized for coronavirus infection. A 20% decrease in one week. The decrease is even more significant in the intensive care units, where a decrease of 30% is noted. Only 35 patients remain in these units.
