Coronavirus, the bulletin of the Calabria Region updated for tomorrow 18 August
Today in Calabria there have been only 5 new positive cases to the Coronavirus su 1,474 people subjected to swabs. It was therefore just positive 0,33% of the subjects subjected to tests, a very large percentage that demonstrates that the virus is not circulating on the regional territory, but it is only a few isolated cases linked to already known clusters of infection. In Reggio Calabria two other positives linked to the outbreak of the party among young people, while in Catanzaro the swab of a child from Crotone hospitalized in pediatrics was positive.
Today is the81st consecutive day with no deaths. The number of cases in Calabria since the beginning of the pandemic is 1.357 people its 136.044 test subjects. The percentage of positives on the controlled is1,0% and it’s by far the lowest in Italy. In Calabria they have even been subjected to swabs 100.2 people for each positive. It is the most important data that testifies the number of swabs carried out compared to the real spread of the pandemic, and it is the highest number in Italy, confirming the very high number of swabs carried out in the Calabrian territory.

I 1.357 almost of Calabria are divided as follows into the 5 Provinces of the Region:
- Cosenza 500 cases: 34 dead, 437 healed, 3 in ward, 26 in home isolation.
- Reggio Calabria 340 cases: 19 dead, 273 healed, 2 in ward, 46 in home isolation.
- Catanzaro 227 cases: 33 dead, 186 healed, 3 in ward, 1 in intensive care, 4 in isolation.
- Crotone 127 cases: 6 dead, 114 healed, 1 in ward, 6 in home isolation.
- Vibo Valentia 91 cases: 5 dead, 82 healed, 4 in home isolation
- Other Region or Foreign State 72 almost

Note: The total number of Catanzaro cases includes subjects from other structures and provinces who have been discharged over time. It should be noted that two patients from other provinces were hospitalized at the Germaneto Polyclinic. The deceased are indicated in the province of origin and not in the one in which the death occurred. The count also includes the two Bergamo patients transferred to Catanzaro, while the numbers of the infection received after the communication of the data to the National Civil Protection are not included.
