26 new deaths linked to Covid-19 in 24 hours in France

CORONAVIRUSFrance has registered 26 new deaths in hospitals linked to the Covid-19 in 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 29,778, announced this Friday, June 26, the Ministry of Health.

The number of patients in intensive care continues to drop with 634 patients, 17 less than on Thursday. In total, less than 9,000 people (exactly 8,886) are hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection in France.

19,290 deaths in hospitals

Since the start of the epidemic, 19,290 people have died in hospitals. Mortality figures for social and medico-social establishments, including nursing homes, will be updated by Santé publique France on June 30.

Four regions (Ile de France, Grand-Est, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Hauts-de-France) account for 74% of patients hospitalized in intensive care. In Overseas France (Guadeloupe, Guyana, Reunion, Martinique, Mayotte), there are 207 hospitalizations, including 37 in intensive care.

In Guyana, traffic remains “particularly active and worrying”, points out the Directorate General of Health. The three experts sent on the spot by the ministry (2 resuscitators and a liaison officer) to “coordinate the crisis management system, have just finalized their mission”. “They will report back in the coming days,” said the ministry.
