France recorded 24 deaths additional related to the Covid-19 in the hospitals, bringing to 29 398 the total number of dead since the beginning of theepidemicaccording to a balance sheet posted online Saturday by Public Health, France.
The number of severe cases of Covid-19 requiring hospitalization in the icu continues to decline, with 871 patients, or eight less than the previous day.
427 495 deaths in the world
In the world, the pandemic of the new coronavirus that has killed at least 427 495 dead since the China has officially made a state of the onset of the disease in December, according to a report drawn up by AFP from official sources on Saturday, at 19 GMT.
More than 7 711 490 cases of infection have been officially diagnosed in 196 countries and territories since the beginning of the epidemic, of which at least 3 458 300 are now considered as cured.
This number of diagnosed cases does not reflect, however, that a fraction of the real number of infections. Some countries test only for severe cases, others use the tests as a priority for tracing and number of poor countries do not have that capacity screening limited.
4 523 deaths of more than the day before
Since the count done the day before at 19 h GMT, 4 523 deaths and 136, 525 new cases were recorded in the world. The countries that have recorded the most new deaths are United States with 994 new dead, the Brazil (909) and the Mexico (504).
The United States, who have identified their first death linked to the coronavirus in the beginning of February, are the most affected country in the number of deaths that of the event, with 115 059 death for 2 061 315 cases. At least 547 386 people have been declared cured.
After the United States, the countries most affected are Brazil, with 41 828 dead for 828 810 case, the United Kingdom with 41 662 deaths (294 375 cases), Italy with 34 301 dead (236 651 cases), and France with 29 398 deaths (193 616 cases).
Among the hardest-hit countries, Belgium is the one that suffers the most number of deaths relative to its population, with 83 deaths per 100 000 inhabitants, followed by the United Kingdom (61) Spain (58) Italy (57), and Sweden (48).
China (without the territories of Hong Kong and Macao) has officially counted a total of 83 075 cases (11 new between Friday and Saturday), 4 of 634 deaths and 78 367 healings.
187 405 deaths in Europe
Europe amounted to Saturday at 19 h GMT 187 405 deaths per 2 382 860 cases, the United States and Canada 123 216 deaths (2 159 686 cases), Latin America and the Caribbean 76 672 deaths (1 579 124 cases), Asia 22 449 deaths (808 221 cases), the Middle East 11 485 deaths (545 472 cases), Africa 6 137 deaths (227 430 cases), and Oceania 131 deaths (8 698 cases).
