Corona vaccination: This is how the federal states assign appointments

In most federal states, vaccinations are initially carried out in nursing homes and clinics. But preparations for the start of vaccination for other risk groups are in full swing. When and how the appointment allocation starts – an overview.

Since the official vaccination start last Sunday, mobile teams have been on the road nationwide to vaccinate patients and staff in nursing homes and hospitals against the novel coronavirus. In January, the large vaccination centers are to open, in which people can initially be immunized who, according to the federal government ordinance, belong to the group of people with “highest priority”. Read who is part of it here.

When and how appointments for vaccinations can be arranged differs depending on the federal state. An overview:

Baden-Wuerttemberg

Registration for vaccination is already possible in Baden-Württemberg. If in doubt, the state government recommends talking to your own family doctor first about whether you belong to a risk group that is given priority vaccination. You can register for the vaccination either by dialing 116 117 or on the Internet.

Bayern

If you want to be vaccinated against the corona virus in Bavaria, you have to contact the responsible vaccination center at your place of residence. Via a postcode search the relevant institution and its telephone number can be researched. Alternatively, those interested in vaccination can contact the telephone number 116 117 and will be forwarded from there to the responsible vaccination center. Online booking is also planned, but will not follow until January. General information on vaccination is available from the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety on 09131- 680 85 101.

Berlin

Anyone who lives in a nursing home in Berlin doesn’t have to worry about anything at first: Mobile vaccination teams come directly to the inpatient facilities. All other residents of Berlin who are entitled to vaccinate are invited personally by the Senate Department for Health to be vaccinated by letter. According to the Senate, these letters should contain all the important information about voluntary appointment booking.

Brandenburg

Unlike in Berlin, the invitation to vaccinate will not be issued automatically in Brandenburg. Instead, a call center of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) is to start work on January 4th, through which appointments can be made. It is not yet known under which number the call center can be reached. The caller’s authorization to vaccinate should first be queried on the phone. With the procedure, the Brandenburg state government wants to avoid possible misuse of online appointment allocation. Online bookings will only be made possible in the course of the coming year.

Bremen

In Bremen, those eligible for the vaccination are first informed by post and can then register on the Internet with an access code. So far, however, this only affects residents and employees of nursing homes. Vaccination registration for other groups of people is still under construction.

Hamburg

It is not yet possible to book an appointment in Hamburg. “Probably in the first week of January we will write to everyone and point out where you can register,” said Health Senator Melanie Leonhard (SPD) on Monday Ed.
