Doctor Isabelle Dehaene from UZ Gent and Professor Frédéric Debiève from the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc, both specialized in high-risk pregnancies, explained today during the question and answer session of the Taskforce “Operationalization of the vaccination strategy”.

Doctor Dehaene, who took care of the Dutch version, started by saying that vaccination against corona during pregnancy is possible, even though the Superior Health Council currently does not recommend systematic vaccination of pregnant women, only women with a risk profile, such as healthcare providers or women. with underlying health problems.

However, Dehaene thinks we may evolve towards a new advice from the council that says it is appropriate for all pregnant women. Why that is the case, she explained in her presentation.
