The Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer does not assume that the situation in the Free State will normalize quickly. In his New Year’s address, which was spread in advance, he dampened hopes that the current corona restrictions would be relaxed after January 10th. The infection numbers are too high for that. At the same time he warned against hectic and hysteria. This will not end the pandemic.

The Saxon Higher Administrative Court has confirmed the decisions of the administrative courts of Dresden and Chemnitz on the corona-related firecrackers bans. So it is forbidden in both cities today and tomorrow to bring fireworks and set off. According to its own statements, the Higher Administrative Court essentially followed the justifications of the administrative courts. According to this, the necessary protective measures are required to contain the corona pandemic. Similar bans also apply elsewhere in Saxony.
