GALAMEDIA – The low positive covid-19 cases (corona virus) in one area does not mean that the area is safe from the spread of the virus. It could be that the area feels safe so the inspection step or co-19 test is very minimal.
“That is very dangerous,” said Epidemiologist from Griffith University Australia Dicky Budiman in a Webinar entitled ‘Synergy and Innovation for Global Health Security and Pandemic’ initiated by Shafco, Saturday (7/25/2020).
With the enactment of the Covid-19 mass test and actively, it can control the spread of the virus in the community.
Unfortunately, continued Dicky, there are still some regions in Indonesia that have done minimal Covid-19 tests. That can be seen from the trend in the number of cases they have.
He admitted that a number of regions had difficulty conducting tests related to the low level of public awareness. Or the public is worried about various things so they are reluctant to take the test.

Related to that, according to him, the government must provide motivation. Dicky gave an example of testing in the Philippines quite successfully in various regions. So, the Philippine government motivated the public to want to do the Covid-19 test by giving rewards in the form of 5 kg of rice.
This method turned out to be successful and that way, virus tracing can be done if found positive cases of Covid-19. If the tracing is successful, then the spread of the corona virus can be stopped.
