Increasing number of test grouches among vacationers in MV
The tourism industry in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has more and more problems with holidaymakers who do not comply with their test obligation. The state tourism association said that the willingness to adhere to the rules has waned. Its chairman Tobias Woitendorf told NDR 1 Radio MV that the increasing vaccination rate and the still comparatively low number of infections had recently lowered acceptance for the tests – at the beginning it worked better. Holidaymakers who have booked a hotel or a holiday apartment in the country or who stay overnight at the campsite need a negative corona rapid test upon arrival. It must not be older than 24 hours. A particular problem with camping holidaymakers or cycling tourists: You have to prove a new test for every new accommodation. After August 23, the test requirement may be tightened. After arrival, negative proof of corona must be shown twice a week if the corona traffic light shows higher warning levels than now.
440 negative PCR tests: School in Leck is back in attendance
At the community school in Leck (North Friesland district), face-to-face learning was able to begin again today. At the end of last week, the school switched to distance teaching due to a corona case. The ban on entering the school has now been lifted, as the Nordfriesland district announced late on Sunday evening. Before that there had been a large-scale PCR test. According to the information, 441 of a total of 476 invited people appeared for the test on Saturday. The result was negative in 440 cases. In one case the sample could not be evaluated. School could start again on Monday for the students who tested negative, as well as for the employees. Quarantine was ordered as close contact persons for five pupils from the class of the school child who tested positive. The 35 people who did not appear for the test, as well as the person whose test could not be evaluated, are to be tested on Monday morning.
89 new corona cases in Lower Saxony – incidence increased slightly
In Lower Saxony there are 89 new infections with the corona virus confirmed by laboratory diagnostics reported (previous day: 295). The seven-day incidence in the national average rose 25.0 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (previous day: 24.9 cases). The Robert Koch Institute reports no further death. The total number of people who died in connection with the virus in Lower Saxony is 5,827.
RKI registers 2,126 new infections – the incidence is 36.2
The seven-day incidence in Germany continues to rise. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) this morning it is 36.2 – the previous day the value was 35.0, a week ago it was 23.1. The health authorities in Germany reported 2,126 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. A week ago, the value for Germany was 1,183 infections.
Official end of the mask requirement in schools in MV
Two weeks after the start of school in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the mask requirement that was previously in force in schools will be suspended until further notice. From today on, students and teachers no longer have to wear mouth and nose protection. Despite the increasing number of infections, the Ministry of Education is implementing the easing announced at the start of school. Mask-free at school only applies where the state’s corona traffic light is green or yellow. Where this traffic light is orange, red or purple on three consecutive days, a mask must be worn again in the schools. That could soon be the case in Rostock. There the traffic light now shows the warning value orange, with an incidence of 55.
Seven-day incidence in SH increases slightly
In Schleswig-Holstein, 97 new corona infections were last reported within one day, 80 fewer than the day before. A week ago there were 80 new cases. The seven-day incidence is currently 48.9 – after 48.7 the previous day. In Flensburg, the incidence value of 112 is now well above the threshold of 100 (previous day: 93.2). In Kiel, on the other hand, the value is now back below 100 at 99.7 (previous day: 103.3). The Ostholstein district has the lowest incidence at 13.5.
