Corona injuries in Argentina exceed 24 thousand cases

The number of newly infected Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Argentina on Tuesday exceeded the 24,000 mark, after 1141 cases were recorded within 24 hours.

This came according to a statement issued by the country’s Ministry of Health, indicating that the number of infections recorded 24,671 cases, after 1141 cases were recorded in the largest daily outcome of infections since the outbreak of the virus in the country.

The statement indicated that 24 new deaths were recorded as a result of infection with the virus during the past 24 hours, raising the total to 717 cases.

It is worth noting that the Argentine President, Alberto Fernandez, had announced last Thursday to extend the social isolation in the country until June 28, after the positive results that were recorded with the precautionary measures to confront the virus.

The President then pointed out that the virus had spread widely in the country during the period when the necessary measures were not taken, adding, “Then the social isolation will continue in the areas that are still witnessing an epidemic.”

Since last March 20, Argentina has implemented social isolation that allows citizens to leave homes in order to meet only basic needs, by permitting them to leave due to the nature of their work.

In total, as of Wednesday dawn, the number of Corona sufferers in the world exceeded 7 million and 312 thousand, of whom more than 413 thousand died, and more than 3 million and 598 thousand recovered, according to “Worldometers”.
