On average 195 new infections per day in the last seven days in the canton of Bern: At the end of the week this was a “nice” value on Friday. The seven-day average has never been below 200 since mid-October. In the meantime, it had climbed to over 740. In terms of the individual days, November 5th was the peak day with 978 new infections. Last Monday, with 119 infections, they were not even far from a double-digit number.
“This is very good news ,” says epidemiologist Nicola Low from the University of Bern. But, she says: “We are at a very delicate point. There is no need to relax now. ” Low is a member of the federal Covid-19 science task force and co-head of the public health expert group there.
