In Schleswig-Holstein, the health authorities reported 340 new corona infections to the state on Friday (April 2nd). The Segeberg and Pinneberg districts continue to exceed the 100 incidence.
Nationwide, the seven-day incidence has fallen slightly – to 72.5. The day before it was 73.9. The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who have demonstrably been infected with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic rose to 50,685. According to an estimate by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 43,200 people from Schleswig-Holstein have recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics there have been 1,439 deaths (+1) so far in connection with the viral disease Covid-19.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values generally do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. As a second number, we therefore give an estimate of how high the 7-day incidence could be without delay in reporting. You can see it when you click on one of the circles. Two circles above the 100 incidence
Two districts in the country are currently above the 100 incidence limit: Segeberg and Pinneberg. In the Segeberg district, the incidence value is highest according to the calculation of the state registration office – at 132.8 (previous day: 134.2). In the Pinneberg district the value is 118.9 (previous day: 120.5). Due to the current corona situation, stricter corona rules have been in effect in many places since April 1. In the Herzogtum-Lauenburg district and in the independent city of Flensburg, the values have fallen slightly and are below the 100 mark. The lowest incidences in Schleswig-Holstein have the districts of North Friesland with 23.5 and Plön with 19.4.

New Corona regulation valid until April 11th
A changed Corona Control Ordinance came into force in Schleswig-Holstein on Monday. It is valid until April 11th and among other things allows more visitors to the homes again. In mid-March, the state government decided that rules for the retail trade as well as for schools and daycare centers will in future be made dependent on the seven-day incidence in the district or in the urban district.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
People in Schleswig-Holstein have been vaccinated against the coronavirus since December 27, 2020. The vaccination quota shows what percentage of northern Germans have already received the first of the two currently required vaccinations.
183 corona patients in clinics
183 people who have tested positive for Corona are currently being treated in the country’s hospitals. That’s three less than the day before. 54 of the Covid patients are in intensive therapy (+3), 32 patients need ventilation (+1).

What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and were reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
