91 new corona cases were reported in the country within 24 hours, more than since the beginning of June (data as of July 23). Eleven people who tested positive for Corona are being treated in the hospital.
The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who has been proven to have been infected with the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic is now 64,658. According to an estimate by the RKI, around 62,500 Schleswig-Holsteiners are considered recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics A new death was reported in connection with the viral disease Covid-19 – the total number is 1,629.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values usually do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. As a second number, we therefore give an estimate of how high the seven-day incidence could be without delay in reporting. This value comes closer to the actual development of the pandemic. The city of Lübeck now has the highest incidence
The cities of Lübeck (previous day: 19.4) and Kiel (previous day: 15.0) each have the highest incidence values in Schleswig-Holstein with 19.4. This is followed by the Stormarn district with 16.8 (previous day: 18.4). The district of Plön has the lowest incidence with 1.6 (previous day: 0.8), followed by the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde with 2.9 (previous day: 2.6).

Further easing throughout SH
The state government announced on July 19 that it wanted to further relax the corona rules in view of the low number of infections – for example with the Contact restrictions. From July 26th, up to 25 people can meet inside and outside. In addition, there is no test obligation for indoor catering. In addition, there is no longer a limit of 1,250 participants for events.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
People in Schleswig-Holstein have been vaccinated against the coronavirus since December 27, 2020. The vaccination rate shows what percentage of northern Germans have already received the first vaccination dose.

What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and were reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
