It should only be temporary. But six months later, the gruesome trailers are still in Brooklyn. It contains 650 corona deaths for whom no grave has yet been found.

The city has increased the funeral allowance considerably, almost doubling it to the equivalent of 1,400 euros in May. But even a normal cremation costs almost four times as much.
Everyone is entitled to a free burial in a mass grave on Hart Island. But many families hesitate to use such a funeral.
For the relatives, the situation is traumatic, the “Wall Street Journal” quotes Dina Maniotis from the office of New York’s chief coroner. “We work with them and carefully try to convince them to sort things out.” In the end, many would decide to have the dead buried in a mass grave on Hart Island.
But the process takes time. From mid-September to mid-November, only about 50 corpses from the refrigerated trucks were properly buried.
