In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the authorities have registered 199 new corona infections since Wednesday, and there were 16 more deaths. The national incidence rate is 64.9.
The number of registered new corona infections has risen by 199 cases in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since Wednesday (as of Thursday 4:24 p.m.). Overall, the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGuS) 23,020 infections reported in the country since March 2020. According to an estimate by the Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI) 20,096 (+302) of the people who tested positive in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania recovered from Covid 19 disease. The number of deaths in the northeast rose by 16 to a total of 680. According to the LAGuS, 105,008 vaccine doses have been administered in the northeast (as of February 18). 66,232 people received the first vaccination, 38,776 the second.

The incidence value in MV is now 64.9
Nationwide, the incidence value rose from 64 to 64.9 infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. It is 7.2 points above the national average. In the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, the seven-day incidence value is 166.8. Schwerin has an incidence value of 86.8. The LAGuS reports a value of 70.8 for the Ludwigslust-Parchim district and a value of 60.4 for Northwest Mecklenburg. The Mecklenburg Lake District reports a value of 58.5. In the district of Rostock the authorities report an incidence of 34.3, in the Hanseatic city of Rostock it is 25.8 and in Western Pomerania-Rügen it is 19.6.
Currently 330 people with Covid-19 in the hospital
According to the latest figures from the LAGuS and the Ministry of Health, 330 (-9) people across the country are currently being treated for Covid 19 in a hospital, 59 (-11) of them are in intensive care. According to the intensive care register, 26 (-4) Covid-19 patients are ventilated. The register shows 507 occupied and 127 free intensive care beds for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (as of Thursday 2:19 p.m.).

59 new infections in Western Pomerania-Greifswald
According to the LAGuS, most of the infected were or are in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald with 5,279 (+59) infections so far. In the Mecklenburg Lake District there are a total of 5,203 (+54) cases. So far there have been 3,545 (+26) infections in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. 2,102 (+10) infections were reported in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. In the district of Northwest Mecklenburg, the authorities registered 1,929 (+21) people who were verifiably infected with the corona virus. The LAGuS reports 1,910 (+10) cases for the Rostock district. The state capital Schwerin continues to have the lowest total numbers with 1,596 (+13) and the Hanseatic city of Rostock with 1,456 (+6) cases.
Active infection events in 29 geriatric care facilities in MV
Since the end of January, LAGuS has also been publishing figures on the situation in old people’s homes, schools and daycare centers. Accordingly, as of Thursday there are active infection events in 29 geriatric care facilities. 635 residents and 338 employees are affected. There are also active infection events at three schools and 18 daycare centers and after-school care centers. Two pupils and one teacher or employee are affected in schools. In the daycare centers and after-school care centers, 21 children and 15 educators and employees were infected with the virus.

The LAGuS’s daily corona statistics only include people who have their primary residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The LAGuS also publishes regular reports on infections among guests. These are all those people who have been found to be infected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, but who do not have a primary residence in the state.
