As of today, Schleswig-Holsteiners are allowed to enter Denmark again without good reason. A negative corona test is sufficient. The quarantine obligation remains in place.
Denmark has further relaxed its entry requirements. A week ago the neighboring country presented a step-by-step plan. There is also another relaxation: Everyone who lives in Schleswig-Holstein is now allowed to enter the country without a valid reason. The condition is a negative corona test, which must not be older than 24 hours. In purely practical terms, the new regulation will initially only change little, because Denmark continues to adhere to the ten-day quarantine obligation and does not allow any exceptions. For many people, trips and vacations in Denmark have to wait a little longer.
Day trips to Denmark from mid-May
According to the Danish step-by-step plan, day trips for Schleswig-Holstein residents should be possible from May 14th. However, only if the border crossers have been vaccinated or tested and stay in the country for a maximum of 24 hours. Anyone planning a longer stay must look at the current status in quarantine after returning to Germany go. Because the Federal Foreign Office has classified Denmark completely as a risk area. Only when the incidences in the Danish regions fall below 50 again will Schleswig-Holsteiners be able to go on holiday in Denmark without any problems from Ascension – and from the end of June onwards, so can all other Germans.
