Mask requirement, quick tests and home office: In most Hamburg companies, the corona rules are well implemented. In May and June, the consumer protection authority carried out special checks in almost 700 companies.
The inspectors mainly focused on companies in which production takes place – where home office is not possible for most employees. There were unannounced visits to around 160 companies because companies had not responded to the authorities’ questions or there were indications of deficiencies.
Exemplary in three out of four companies
Overall, the protection concepts in three out of four companies were absolutely exemplary, according to the authority’s assessment. Where there was something to complain about, the deficiencies, for example in the minimum clearance or ventilation concept, could usually be remedied quickly. The absolute majority of companies have understood how important the rules are and in any case have their own interest in protecting the workforce, according to the consumer protection authority.
