In the daycare and crèche operation of the Kloten school building in Dorf / Feld, an employee has been tested positive for the corona virus. As a result, 80 children have been in quarantine since Wednesday.
The day care center and crèche remained closed until further notice. The measure has been agreed with the school medical service of the canton, quotes the “Klotener Anzeiger” Elsbeth Fässler, Head of Education and Children.
Test result after two days
Fässler underlined that so far it has been an isolated case. “So far we have no indication that other employees or children may have been infected,” said Fässler. A specialist who looked after the children had first symptoms such as a sore throat and fever on Monday morning. During the day, her condition worsened. Therefore, she went to the doctor around 4 p.m., who tested her for the coronavirus.
The test result was then available on Wednesday morning. As a result, those responsible immediately contacted the school medical service and discussed how to proceed. The quarantine of the children is a precaution.
Parents informed by phone
As of Wednesday, all affected parents had been informed by phone of the school management about the measure. The quarantine is expected to last until next Thursday, July 2. It applies to all 80 children of the lunch table and after-school care.
Their siblings and parents do not have to be in quarantine, Fässler told the “Klotener Anzeiger”. Around 380 children go to school in the Dorf / Feld school building. In addition to the primary school, three kindergartens are also housed in the building.
