“In the process of work we found that in one dam one is the owner of the land, another is the owner of the wall, a third of the water. And the one of the water in some cases gave it on concession so that a fourth could watch carp. We have one a dam with three owners, for example – the first problem. 11 dams have been repaired for BGN 500,000,000, but for 10 dams the repair has not been accepted – where due to lack of papers, projects, permission from the respective municipality “.
This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Industry and BSP leader Cornelia Ninova from the parliamentary rostrum. Thus, for BGN 500 million in advance, a dam was legally repaired, according to the Deputy Prime Minister.
We are ready with changes in the Water Act and we will present them to your attention soon, Ninova announced and added that changes in other bylaws related to the problems around these water facilities are being prepared.
Other important tasks are the creation of a unified register of dams in Bulgaria to know how many they are, where they are located and whose property they are, and the completion of their classification to find out how dangerous the facilities are and in what condition they are.
Ninova pointed out that it is necessary to speed up the procedure for transferring the dams, which are municipal property, to the State Enterprise “Management and Management of Dams”, as well as to update the dams included in the list of repairs by Decision of Council of Ministers 495 and to start their adequate repair, starting with the most dangerous equipment.
