With Run, Microsoft has its own launcher for programs under Windows 10. He is part of the PowerToys, a collection of currently 7 tools designed to upgrade Windows in various places. The launcher is started by [Alt] + [Leertaste] and an entry line will appear on the screen. This can be moved freely with the mouse and already provides suggestions after typing in the first letters. How many suggestions there are can be specified in the settings, the default is 4.-
For example, type “fi”, Firefox, Movies & TV or other tools will appear whose names begin with “Fi”. This is pretty quick and you can simply select a proposed program and send it via [ENTER] start. The launcher also offers other options. Two icons behind the programs found allow tools to be started as admin or the associated folder to be opened. What else can the launcher start besides programs? You can use it as a simple calculator, and it also swallows wildcards like * when searching.
