Cooking Oil Rp. 14,000 Rare, Retail Entrepreneurs Sentil Manufacturers and Distributors

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A number of people have complained about the scarcity of cooking oil at one price, which is priced at Rp. 14,000 per liter in modern retail.

In fact, this one-price cooking oil program has been running or distributed to modern retailers since a week ago.

Never got promo oil as long as there is cheap oil. By the way, there is no empty stock etc,” wrote Facebook user Nova Anggraini in the Promo Alfamart & Indomaret Facebook group, quoted by Kompas.com, Thursday (27/1/2022).

The same thing was experienced by Facebook user Dian Yesaku. He admitted that it was difficult to get oil at retail Alfamart.

Same bun 4 days every day, always empty, finally lazy to go to Alfamart,” he wrote.

Responding to this, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) Roy Nicholas Mandey said that the scarcity of cooking oil in modern retail is not the responsibility of Aprindo but the distributors and producers.

He said that Aprindo was only a place for distribution, not a supplier.

“The problem is not in retail, because retail cannot produce oil. The problem is in the supply of distributors,” said Roy.

He assessed that distributors and producers did not carry out their commitments in supporting government programs, so that supply to retailers was limited.

“These distributors and producers are not committed to government programs. Aprindo is already committed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Corporate Communication GM of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (Alfmart) Nur Rachman admitted that all retailers are indeed short of stock. cooking oil IDR 14,000 per liter.

According to him, this was due to the slow supply of cooking oil producers.

“The bottom line is that all retailers are overwhelmed because of stock shortages,” said Nur Rachman.
