Controversial e-mail to BC Soumagne: “The parents are not clear in this matter”

An email from BC Soumagne sent to parents raised a huge controversy. The now ex-secretary reacts.

This weekend, a letter sent by BC Soumagne to parents of children caused a lot of noise. It says that children (aged 6, 8 and 10) “will no longer be admitted to club training” (sic) because they are not as strong as the others, “despite the work done by the coaches.”

In statements published on our website, the mother of the 8-year-old described the letter as discriminatory.

On Saturday, the town of Soumagne explained that it did not endorse this type of attitude and that it was going to meet the club officials. To this were added the resignations of the president of the club and of the secretary, author of the letter. (…)
