Consumption of these 4 foods helps prevent colon cancer and keeps the intestines healthy

A new study published in the journal Gut states that consuming dairy products can lower the risk of colon cancer.

However, to keep the gut healthy, researchers suggest consuming some of these foods.

The following are the foods in question as reported by the Times of India:

1. Yoghurt

Yogurt is rich in probiotics, which keeps good and beneficial bacteria in check and keeps your intestines healthy. When the intestine is healthy, it prevents colon cancer.

2. Fruits

Certain fruits like banana, mango, papaya, etc. are very rich in dietary fiber. Fiber really helps digestion. Fiber prevents sugar levels from rising too high at a certain point in time.

3. Almond

Almonds are one of the healthiest choices for weight loss, but almonds also help maintain gut health. This is because almonds are rich in magnesium and fiber, which helps keep digestion active.

4. Spinach

According to recent research, spinach is a good source of magnesium which specifically reduces the risk of colon cancer. Spinach is also rich in many other nutrients, including fiber, which improves digestion.
