Conmebol and the Colombian Federation call for review of report to the headquarters of the women’s world 2023 – International Soccer – Sports

The president of Conmebol, Alejandro Domínguez, and the president of the Colombian Federation of Football, Ramon Jesurún, they sent a letter to the Members of the Board of Fifa, in reference to the election of the venue of the fifa Women’s World Cup the Fifa 2023, requesting that they consider “objectively” the points of technical analysis that has left Colombia with the lowest score.

In the letter, the leaders express a criticism of the authorities of the Fifa for the technical report made to Colombia, which is one of the candidates for organizing the tournament, competing with Japan, and Australia with New Zealand.

The position of the Federation is that there were “conclusions are wrong and discriminatory,” affecting the score of Colombia as a candidate for the election, in aspects such as security, medical and marketing.

In terms of safety, the letter said that the report had “levities,” at the mention of the subject of “terrorism”.

On the topic of health, the Federation criticized that the report “no basis whatsoever” to mention that in Colombia there is a deficit in the hospital system.

And on the topic of marketing, the report speaks of the little interest that could have the tournament in Europe for the time difference. “We would like to note that Colombia is only a three hours flight from the main power of the women’s football, united States of America”, responds to the FCF.

Finally, the Federation argues that the country is ideal for organizing the tournament. Makes reference to the experience in other organized events such as the World youth in 2011, and adds that the “women’s tournament is among the most successful in the continent, with 20.600 players and an average attendance of 28 thousand spectators”.

The next 25 June, Fifa will define the country that will receive the women’s tournament in 2023.
