Containment measures for New York City have been extended until May 28, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Friday.

The governor clarified this date during a press briefing, while a decree signed the evening before also mentioned the date of June 13. Mr Cuomo did not specify what exactly measures were extended until June 13.
New York City, the economic and cultural capital of the United States, has been at the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic, with more than 20,000 deaths from COVID-19. Five other less populated regions of this state of 20 million inhabitants can gradually revive their economy from this Friday.
