MACERATA Rosy was afraid. In recent times she often referred it to some of her friends, who could not understand if it was perhaps an exaggeration, a way to let off steam. Those sentences, in the light of what happened, today sound sinister. Rosina Carsetti, 78, housewife, is died on the afternoon of December 24 in her home in Montecassiano, in the province of Macerata, almost certainly suffocated and therefore not of natural death, at least according to what transpires from the autopsy. Today (Tuesday 29 December) she was supposed to meet the lawyer of the Sos Donna anti-violence center in the capital from which she had already been on 19 December. Currently, her family members are under investigation for murder, aiding and abetting and simulation of crime: her husband, Enrico Orazi, 81, the couple’s daughter Arianna, 48, and the latter’s son, Enea Simonetti, 21. .

The intervention of the carabinieri in November
The alarm went off on the evening of Christmas Eve, at 19.51, when Arianna called the carabinieri and told them that a thief, dressed in black, tall and with an Eastern accent, had sneaked into their house, in via Pertini, he had beaten and tied her up, locked her father in the bathroom and then attacked her mother, perhaps giving her a heart attack. He also added that Aeneas had freed them, returning from his last Christmas purchases, and that about two thousand euros had disappeared. In truth, that of 24 December was not the first visit of the carabinieri to the number 31 of the Orazi house. A patrol had already been there in late November. It was Rosy who had called 112 for a discussion, which then escalated into a fight, with her nephew. She wanted them to scold Aeneas for the disrespectful tones used against her. Tempers calm down and Rosy makes no formal complaint. With her friends, however, she continues to let off steam and reports that she now lives relegated to the first floor, between the living room, the kitchen and a bathroom, that she does not have access to heating, not even a heater, that she cannot use a cell phone or the car and to have only 10 euros per day. This is not the case according to the grandson, who instead told reporters that “she lacked nothing” and that he cannot understand why his grandmother had turned to a refuge.

The investigation
The investigations are continuing at 360 degrees. As confirmed in Courier service the prosecutor of Macerata, Giovanni Giorgio, “currently no leads are excluded”. The carabinieri, led by commander Nicola Candido and with the help of experts, including IT experts, carried out surveys in the seized house and heard from various people among friends and acquaintances. Every detail of the family’s life is examined, including the changes in ownership that affected their home, purchased 25 years ago with the savings of a working life and registered in the name of his nephew Enea. On Monday, Rosina Carsetti’s funeral should have been celebrated privately. But the Prosecutor’s Office revoked the clearance for the funeral due to the lack of bureaucratic fulfillment.
