On Saturday, August 15, visitors to the Riga Festival will have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse concert program in several neighborhoods of Riga. The street music event “Rīgas retro” will take place in Sarkandaugava and Jugla, in Ziedondarz, Arkadia Park and Kipsala beach you will be able to listen to music performed by favorite artists in the concert cycle “Go Boat Shining”.

The day-long concert “Walk along Lake Jugla” will be heard in Jugla, but in Purvciems there will be both performances of young musicians in the concert program “Sounds of Purvciems” and the concert program of the folk duo “Under one roof.”

In the city center, in the Town Hall Square, the Orchestra “Riga” will play music, but visitors to Vērmane Garden will be delighted by the concert “Song Bridges from Heart to Heart”. The music will also be played in Kronvalda Park, Riga St. Peter’s Church and Riga Dome Garden.

On the second day of the festival, residents are invited to go on thematic walks. The route created especially for the Riga Festival and the narration of a guide dressed in an Art Nouveau costume will allow the participants of the walk to feel the 20th century. beginning in Riga, walk along Alberta Street and its surroundings in the excursion “Walk through Art Nouveau Riga”.

A fun event for the whole family with music, performances, dances and games will take place in Grizinkalns. The festive mood with thematic events will reign in Tērbatas vasaras Street, Mazjumprava Manor, E. Smiļģis Museum Garden, Independence Square and elsewhere in the city. Gourmets are welcome in the festive restaurant, which this year is available to visitors in the square near the Latvian National Museum of Art, as well as in the big picnic in Mežaparks.

The Riga Festival has always been full of sports activities. Also this year, residents will be able to both sympathize with the start of athletes and engage in physical activities themselves. Professionals and amateurs will meet at the Riga Festival Checkers Festival, will have the opportunity to attend the “9th Riga Open U-Shu Cup”, watch aviation demonstrations and sailing the Riga Cup.
