Complain constructively – preferably directly to the staff – Kkuriren

Response to the submitter “Dissatisfied customer” in Katrineholmskuriren on 7 June.

I can understand the disappointment of the misunderstanding with the lasagna. Anyone who has decided not to eat meat does not want to be served meat. But if you have a strict diet, you must ask before ordering. It was good that it was noticed, it gave a chance to write a clearer menu. But of course it is best to talk directly with the staff. It can be hard to complain face to face, a tip is to email. Of course, the misunderstanding had been corrected and both parties had become winners.

Complaining anonymously is becoming more common. With today’s technology, anyone can, in a matter of seconds, without thought, react anonymously. The one who took out the feeling bounces with relief further in life. The one who was hung and undressed in public, yes, for the person / persons it is different.

I have run a restaurant and small businesses. Compared with large companies / business chains, there are no employees who handle customer service, development issues, complaints, government inspections, financial issues, accounting, local issues, personnel issues and daily problems that arise during paid working hours. No, that work would be covered by the prices on the menu facing customers at the door.

Everything is self-selected, so I do not complain. But I am often reminded of the low level of knowledge about the conditions of small businesses. Few even know that the pension should also be covered by the price on the menu.

Be afraid of the small business owners in our beautiful countryside. Everyone who struggles to get the business together. Complain when it is justified, but do it constructively, directly to those concerned. Only if no one listens is it time to complain in public.
