Hossam Al-Zanati, Director of the Egyptian Football Association’s Competitions Department, confirmed that no Egyptian League club has imposed its authority on the committee, noting that the postponement of the summit meeting came due to circumstances beyond their control.
Al-Zanati said, in statements to “On Sport”: “The management of the competitions considered its importance in the necessity of imposing personality, and no club has ever imposed its authority on us, whether in penalty or something else.”
He added: “If we had the intention to postpone the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match, we would have made the league draw directed from the beginning and put the summit meeting in the last round of the first round of the competition.”
He concluded: “The postponement of the meeting came due to circumstances beyond our control, and I considered leaving, as soon as I knew that there was an intention to postpone, I felt that the decision to hit the competition was to kill, because what people applauded to us initially did not materialize.”
It is noteworthy that the Football Association decided to postpone the summit game that was scheduled for last October based on security instructions, and will be decided on it on the 19th of next February, days before the renewal of the confrontation in the Egyptian Super.
