The Mazda RX-Vision GT3-Concept is now available for download for the simulation “Gran Turismo Sport” on Playstation 4. The virtual sports car was developed together with Polyphony Digital and complies with both the FIA regulations for GT3 racing cars and the regulations of Gran Turismo Sport for category 3 vehicles.
For the simulation, the coup study was rigorously tailored to racing: the passenger compartment and doors were retained in accordance with the GT3 regulations, the front and rear track width and the width of the fenders were increased. A large air outlet on the bonnet improves aerodynamics and engine cooling equally; Spoilers at the front and rear and a rear diffuser increase the downforce. Ground clearance and vehicle height have also been reduced in favor of aerodynamics.
Excess components were removed as well as heavy materials. This not only reduced the vehicle weight, but also the center of gravity – which, in conjunction with the weight distribution of 48:52 between the front and rear axles, contributes to optimal handling properties. The drive source is the Skyactiv-R installed as a front / middle engine: The next generation rotary piston engine has four rotary pistons and develops an output of 570 hp.
The most successful Gran Turismo Sport players (18 years and older) who use Mazda vehicles like the RX-Vision GT3 Concept have the chance to participate in the Gran Turismo Championship. The FIA-certified championship will be held in various locations worldwide in the 2020 season. (ampnet / deg)
