People who can afford it need to dig deeper into their pockets because the price of some fuel oil (BBM) and compact non-subsidized LPG rose. PT Pertamina (Persero) has raised the prices of three types of non-subsidized fuel, namely Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex.
Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) increased from IDR 14,500 per liter to IDR 16,200 per liter, Dexlite increased from IDR 12,950 per liter to IDR 15,000 per liter, and Pertamina Dex increased from IDR 13,700 per liter to IDR 16,500 for the DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.
“Adjustment of general fuel prices in order to implement Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) ESDM No. 62 K/12/MEM/2020 concerning Basic Price Formula in Calculation of Retail Selling Prices for General Oil Fuel Types of Gasoline and Diesel Oil Channeled Through Gas Stations,” reads Pertamina’s statement, Sunday (10/7/2022).

The non-subsidized LPG whose prices have increased are Bright Gas and 12 kg LPG with an adjustment of Rp. 2,000/kg.
“All price adjustments are around Rp. 2,000 per liter for fuel and per kg for LPG. This price is still very competitive compared to products of equivalent quality. For subsidized ones, the government still plays a big role by not adjusting the price,” said the Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting in a written statement.
Irto explained that this price adjustment was carried out following price trends in the world oil and gas industry. The ICP oil price per June touched US$ 117.62/barrel, around 37% higher than the ICP price in January 2022.
Likewise with LPG, the price trend (CPA) in July reached US$ 725/Metric Ton (MT) or 13% higher than the average CPA throughout 2021.
